The passive sample cooler works according to the passive cooler principle, you do NOT need continuously cooling water flow. The sample flows through a sample coil inside a compact water tank, the thermal energy is transferred to the water. Due to the fact that the thermal capacity of water is mostly higher than the thermal capacity of hydrocarbon fluids, the temperature of the water increases only slowly. This type of passive cooling can be used very good in spot sampling applications.
Manual sample points needs for safety a temperature below approx. 70°C. When this temperature is different from your process temperature, a sample cooler is sometimes required.
