Custom made pipe coil or tube coil sample coolers with open design, for connection to flanged process piping or tubing fittings and cooling down steam or process samples.

 

Mechatest is manufacturer of this open type water coolers for sampling purposes. This type of open sample coolers can be used in downstream processes where instrumentation coolers cannot fit and connections made by flanges and piping instead of tubing. The design is based on overflow of cooling water into a drain pipe, there is no overpressure in the cooling vessel. Specific for dirty or river cooling water applications, open coolers can be easily cleaned without disassembly the cooling coil.




  • Flows from 1 L/hr to 1000 L/h
  • Pressure ratings up to 345 bar (5,000 psi)
  • Temperature ratings up to 593°C (1100°F)
  • Available using single pipe coil heat exchanger designs.
  • Sample tube/coil materials, SS304, SS316/316L or S.Duplex, Alloy 625 / 825 (Inconel), Monel 400, Hastelloy C276
  • Pipe coils in 1/4", 1/2" or 3/4" with flange connection or threaded ends.
  • Specific water chemistry could dictate different materials for improved corrosion resistance, e.g. Alloy 600 for high chlorides in the cooling water.
  • Sample coolers with NACE MR0175 or NACE MR0103 standards for sour gas or liquid (H2S) applications.
  • Shell approved sample cooler conform standard drawing S38.013

To cover the difference in cooling requirements in the industry, Mechatest offers a wide variety of helical sample coolers. Principle is a single continuous tube is helically coiled and fitted in a shell. A variety of materials, diameters and lengths are available to suit most applications. Based on the type of sampling product, process temperature and pressure, coolers can be customized to fit the situation. When this temperature is different from your process temperature, a cooler is mostly required.
