Natural Gas Sampling

The Spot Sampling Task

There are three primary methods for obtaining natural gas samples: Spot, Composite, and Continuous (On-line).

The objective of all three methods is to obtain a “representative” sample of the source gas. When spot sampling

is performed a sample is extracted through a probe extending into the pipeline, collected into a sample cylinder,

and then transported to a laboratory for analysis.
